Tennessee State freshman guard was named Freshman of the Week by the Ohio Valley Conference on Monday. In three games last week, the Nashville, Tennessee product put together three double figure scoring performances -10 points against Midway, a career-high us Mercer and 11 on Southeastern Louisiana- in helping the Tigers to a 2-1 week. Jones averaged 13.0 points, 7 boards, 5.0 assists and 1 steal per contest during the three-game stretch.
The former 3-star product has scored in double figures 5 times this season and is averaging 10.4 points, 5.5 rebounds and 2.8 assists on .474/200/.889 shooting splits.
Tennessee State returns to the hardwood when they hit the road for a Wednesday night matchup in Huntsville against Alabama A&M.
